One of the things about social media is that nothing is private anymore, especially romantic relationships. Every day there is a new engagement or break up status on my newsfeed, and all the others are about how happy/unhappy they are with their significant others or lack there of. Women complain that there aren’t any good men out there, and men complain that women don’t give them enough chances. I wish I had all the answers for you guys, but I don’t, what I do have though is a female perspective on the underrated qualities women tend to overlook in men. Sure, not every guy could be prince charming, but these tiny gestures of kindness make them pretty damn close.
- Patience. Let’s face it ladies, we could get a bit crazy at times (and by a bit I mean a lot). We get triggered by stress, hormones, and even little things like the guy sitting next to us in the movie theater chewing his popcorn too loudly. A good guy understands this level of crazy, because the 5 seconds of the day where we actually act like normal human beings makes it all worth it…right?
- An even-tempered man. There is nothing less attractive then a man who loses his cool in stressful situations. Punching walls and swearing up a storm when you’re angry? That’s a very unattractive sign of weakness. A level-headed man who can look at the bigger picture and keep you both cool, calm and collected is a keeper.

- A wicked sense of humour. Why is it that we all fall in love with the Seth Cohen’s view of the world instead of the Ryan Atwoods? Because the brooding man gets boring after awhile. A guy that can share your sarcastic wit always keeps things interesting

- Watching the lame shows and movies you like. How many times has he sat through a cheesy romcom or an episode of Nashville for you? That’s a sign of true love my friends.

- Not getting grossed out by your girl problems. As Maroon 5 once said, it’s not always rainbows and butterflies. Enough said.

- Being close with yourfamily. A guy who treats his family with love and respect is likely to treat you in the same manner.

- Having life goals. There is nothing more attractive than a man who knows what he wants to do in life and is not afraid to go out and get it. And on that note…

- Pushes you to do your best. A good guy is one that wants you to succeed in your goals. Just because you’re in a relationship does not mean you have to give up everything you ever dreamed of, and a good guy understands that and will help you achieve those goals.

- Is respectful to your friends. A good guy respects your close friends and treats them with the same respect you should be getting. It’s really tough with girls because we tend to be very judgemental of our friends’ S/Os, but a few kind gestures go a long way.

- And last but not least, a guy that likes you for you. We could all get a little quirky and crazy at times, it’s all a part of the charm. A good guy is right there beside you making a fool out of himself too.
