If you are like most people, you will have plenty of ups and downs in relationships before you find the coveted “one.” In other words, you have probably kissed a few frogs to find your prince. Below is a list of the Mr. Right Nows that we’ve dated throughout our search for Mr. Right.
- The Older Guy: He’s that guy with a nice car, a “real” job, and his own place. Who knows if you ever really had anything in common with him or you just needed a ride and some food that wasn’t cooked in a microwave.
- The Guy with the Girlfriend: Oh yes, don’t act like you haven’t made that mistake! You don’t know if he actually could have been the “one” or if the temptation of another woman was the sole reason for your interest. Whatever your interest, your undercover mission via Facebook revealed that he and his girlfriend did not make a cute couple.
- The Friend Zoner: This is the guy all your friends claimed was in love with you but the problem was that you’ve already friend zoned him. You gave it a shot but it ultimately ruined the friendship because it felt like you were kissing your brother. Ew.
- The Funny Guy: The Funny Guy is the guy you probably thought was the “one.” It wasn’t just about the looks and you actually liked his personality. You shortly realized that the jokes are only funny for so long. When I fail my calculus exam I need a shoulder to lean on, not a dumb blonde joke!
- The Guy with the Abs: He might not be able to hold an intelligent conversation with your parents but at least he looks good trying. He is the one that you can’t believe you tied down because he is just so ridiculously good looking. Your future babies will most likely be models.
- The Foreigner: He is tall, dark, handsome and yet you can’t understand a word he’s saying. The goal of this relationship was to date him long enough to score an invitation back to his home country to visit his family. Who doesn’t want a free vacation!
- The Athlete: The Athlete spends 95% of his time playing sports, working out in the gym, or drinking beer with his teammates. You put up with it because well…who can turn down a guy in a sports uniform? The demise of your relationship was caused by trips to the recreation centre to shoot some hoops instead of dinner dates. I’m sporty and all but I spent all my OSAP money on these new Louboutins!
- The Nerd: He may be inexperienced in the dating world but as he’s proven throughout university and graduate school, he is a quick learner. His shyness leads to awkward conversations with your friends but all you can think of is the 99.9% chance that one day he will be a millionaire.
- The Bad Boy: He is rude, spends too much time playing his guitar, and your parents hate him. He will come in to your life, make a mess, and leave as quickly as he came. But what a wild ride!
